Ban Gioc Waterfall, a natural paradise on the Vietnam border
Hello, I'm mr.hotsia. I had the opportunity to visit Ban Gioc Waterfall in Cao Bang Province, Vietnam, one of the most beautiful and grand waterfalls in Southeast Asia. This waterfall is located on the Vietnam-China border. The surrounding atmosphere is filled with lush greenery of forests and limestone mountains stretching as far as the eye can see.
I arrived here after leaving Lang Son city, which is not far from Cao Bang. If anyone is interested in learning more about Lang Son city, you can read about it atLang Son Province, Vietnamas recorded by mr.hotsia.
Travel and Atmosphere Around Ban Gioc Waterfall
Traveling to Ban Gioc Waterfall is somewhat challenging because most of the route is mountainous roads with some narrow curves. But once you arrive, all fatigue disappears immediately. Ban Gioc Waterfall is wide with strong water flow year-round, especially during the rainy season when the water volume increases and splashes against the rocks creating a misty curtain, giving a dreamlike atmosphere.
When I arrived, cool breezes blew intermittently, easing the slight heat from the sun. The water was clear enough to see the rocks beneath. Around the area, local villagers sold handicrafts and local food to tourists. I tried the local dishes which were flavorful and fresh, especially the fish caught from nearby rivers.
Impressions from mr.hotsia
Standing and watching Ban Gioc Waterfall, I felt the grandeur and tranquility perfectly created by nature. The sound of water hitting the rocks was rhythmic, mixed with birdsong and the wind rustling through leaves, giving a feeling of renewed energy. After walking around the waterfall, I recommend taking the small walking path provided to see a high viewpoint of the waterfall, offering a beautiful and unique perspective.
Additionally, near the waterfall there are caves and limestone mountains that can be climbed for adventure lovers. I climbed up to enjoy the view from above, seeing the waterfall cascading down natural steps spectacularly. I also experienced the lifestyle of various hill tribes who still firmly preserve their traditional culture.
