The road up to Doi Ang Khang is steep and winding for 10 kilometers. Anyone driving up must check their vehicle condition carefully and know how to drive on mountain roads. Use low gear and drive slowly both up and down for safety.
From a tourist perspective, Doi Ang Khang offers both daytime and nighttime experiences. During the day, explore the Royal Agricultural Station and visit Ban No Lae to see the life of the Lahu people. At night, those staying near the station can enjoy a stroll in the cool breeze, taste tea, and have dinner. Campers at the tent site can gather around a campfire and have fun with friends. This is the typical way to enjoy Doi Ang Khang today. Mr.Hotsia stayed at the Jeed Jad Hotel, which serves as both a souvenir shop and accommodation. They offer WIFI internet here.
However, internet access is only available downstairs and is open 24 hours, closing around midnight. After packing up, I went out for a walk in front of the accommodation. You can walk all around; it’s lively and really a charming town to visit. For nighttime activities, I recommend trying the Doi Ang Khang roti, tasting Yunnan cuisine like I did, then taking a walk around to enjoy the limestone mountain views surrounding the Ang Khang Valley. Heart cabbage, crispy and delicious, free of chemicals. Many Yunnan Chinese live in Doi Ang Khang. When you visit, try ordering dishes like I did: Yunnan pork leg, stir-fried heart cabbage, and Yunnan stir-fry. The atmosphere in front of the Royal Agricultural Station Ang Khang is even more beautiful in person with limestone mountains surrounding it. I’m not good at photo editing though. Jeed Jad, where I stayed, is both a souvenir shop and accommodation. When I visited, the temperature at Doi Ang Khang was 19°C. This heart cabbage dish I ordered was stir-fried vegetables. Dok Mei restaurant serves delicious food and is a mid-range place. Dok Mei restaurant at Doi Ang Khang offers fragrant tea before meals. The stir-fried heart cabbage is crispy and tasty, I liked it. The Yunnan pork leg was a bit tough for me, but you might like it.
