Chiang Mai: Strolling through Chiang Mai via Google Street View

http://www.hotsia.com > Street View has officially launched in Thailand. Drag the yellow figure on the left onto the map, then you can control your virtual walk—turn left, right, forward, backward, zoom in, zoom out, look up, or look down. Using the mouse wheel to zoom or unzoom is very easy. The design is simple and intuitive; just try it and you'll understand immediately. The example above shows a walk in Chiang Mai's Nimmanhemin Soi 9 area.

This area features the famous Wawi Coffee. Try clicking to walk around from above. Street View is available in Chiang Mai, Bangkok, and nearby areas, covering main roads to southern provinces and even Phuket Island. Thailand is the first country in Southeast Asia to have this service; Malaysia does not have it yet, but Singapore does. For tourist spots in Thailand I expected to find but didn’t, like Chiang Khan, try my mini Street View of Chiang Khan here.

Or check out other clickable photo maps I created, such as the daytime walking map of Chiang Khan and the walking map of Hoi An. Another area to explore is the Tha Phae Gate district, popular for food and mostly frequented by foreigners. To walk around using Google Street View, if a street segment is marked in blue, it means Street View is available there. To finish, try strolling along the roads and enjoy the scenery and trees at your leisure. mr.hotsia, March 2012. Other trips by Mr.Hotsia.

Chilly adventures at Doi Inthanon, reading the patterns in the mist, mineral salt eggs from Mueang On, and a hunter by the Ping River.
