Chiang Mai Hot Coffee Maenajorn
Hot Coffee Maenajorn http://www.hotsia.com > > Hot Coffee Maenajorn, a coffee shop deep in the forest. "Hot Coffee Maenajorn" is known as the highest coffee shop in Thailand. Let's explore one of the most remote and farthest coffee shops in Thailand. This shop, called Coffee, is located at 4/1 Moo 5, Maenajorn Subdistrict, Mae Chaem District, Chiang Mai 50270. See the map below. Getting to this shop is not easy, starting from Mae Chaem (behind Doi Inthanon).

Head towards Maenajorn following the route from Mae Chaem to Khun Yuam. About 1 kilometer before Maenajorn on the left side, you will see a serious fresh coffee shop. It's hard to believe such a coffee shop exists deep in the forest. This coffee shop belongs to the Care Foundation, an independent organization that helps hill tribe children with education, including supporting them to complete their studies in Thailand and abroad, then helping them develop their home villages. The staff selling coffee and the children in the shop are those supported by the foundation.
Having coffee here is a way to indirectly support the children. Besides food and drinks, the shop also sells fabrics and products made by the children from the foundation. Behind the shop is a very nice accommodation with a river flowing in front of the house. When I visited, the place had just finished construction and was open to tourists. I didn't stay overnight because the internet at the shop was not very fast, but it was enough to browse websites and check emails.
In addition to accommodation, there is a service for tourists who want to learn knife forging. You can join a short course to forge a knife and have your name engraved on it. This is popular among foreigners traveling by motorcycle. I planned to forge a knife myself, but the steel cutting machine was not ready when I visited. Next time, I will definitely forge a knife, engrave my name on it, and share a video with friends. Hot Coffee is located on a new tourist route.
The route from Mae Chaem to Khun Yuam is little known among Thai tourists. Mostly foreigners on motorcycles travel through the forest here. I came here while exploring the route from Mae Chaem to Pai via Maesa and Wat Chan. When travel conditions improve, I will share the information so you can tour in a loop from Doi Inthanon, down to Mae Chaem, then continue to Maenajorn, Maesa, Wat Chan, Pai, and circle back to Mae Hong Son, Khun Yuam, and Mae Sariang.
