There are two accommodations at Doi Chua Nya located in the hill tribe village, turning onto the same road as the park's lodging. The third is staying at Ban Mae Klang Luang, which I recommend. Ban Mae Klang Luang is the first accommodation you encounter among the lodgings on the upper mountain. This is a Thai hill tribe village with several locally run resort-style accommodations. During the peak tourist season in December and January, prices are about 1,000 baht per night, but outside the winter season, it's about 500 baht per night. Doi Inthanon is cool all year round.
You don't have to visit only in winter. Here, you can also rent a tent site. The resorts provide barbecue areas and restrooms. The highlight of Ban Mae Klang Luang is the view of the terraced rice fields. It’s beautiful during the golden rice season or planting season. You can stroll to enjoy freshly roasted and ground coffee, cup by cup, made by the locals. Sitting and chatting about the livelihoods of the local people adds a unique charm. I recommend walking to have coffee in the morning after returning from the mountain peak. In the evening,
you can walk around the rice fields, take photos, and enjoy the view from the accommodation. Some lodgings are next to waterfall streams. You can choose your stay as you like. If it’s not during a festival, no need to book in advance. I have visited and stayed here twice. The first time was to scout the location for my 27th military craftsman reunion party. The second time was for the year-end reunion party in 2013. The winter season in November is very suitable here. The view is beautiful, the weather is pleasant, and tourists are not too many. You can walk to see the terraced rice fields in the evening and visit the mountain peak in the morning.
This area can accommodate up to 50 families for events like my reunion. You can coordinate and book in advance at 087-1019576 or 081-2971473.
