There is a camping site and a lettuce farm (salad greens) run by the Hmong people. Mon Jam also has a strawberry farm. The viewpoint at Mon Jam is outstanding for both sunrise and sunset in the same spot. It is considered one of the rare beautiful scenic tourist attractions. To get to Mon Jam, take the route from Chiang Mai to Mae Rim, then turn left towards Samoeng for about 14 kilometers. There will be a right turn going up the mountain for another 5 kilometers. Mon Jam, which recently opened, has become the most popular tourist destination this year. More information from http://www.maerimtourist.com: it is a new accommodation area of the Royal Project, launched at the end of 2009. It is located on a ridge about 1,350 meters above sea level in the Hmong village of Nong Hoi, Mae Rim district, Chiang Mai province.
Mon Jam has cool and comfortable weather all year round, with beautiful scenery amidst mist and clouds. Visitors can enjoy agricultural tourism, growing cold-climate crops, and strawberry farms during the winter season. Nearby Mon Jam is the Nong Hoi Royal Project Development Center, which includes vegetable plots and research on cold-climate vegetables such as artichokes, herb gardens with lemon balm, mint, chamomile, rosemary, and fruit trees like plums and seedless grapes.
Sweet strawberries, hydroponic vegetable plots using soil-less cultivation technology such as red oak leaf lettuce and salad greens, and Doi Kham tomatoes appear in a 'camping resort' style that blends perfectly with nature. It emphasizes privacy and convenience, such as tents with private areas, private bathrooms, hot water, electricity, and complete amenities, just like a hotel room but special because you get to experience nature closely just by opening your window.
