Piang Luang Travel Piang Luang http://www.hotsia.com > Wiang Haeng > Piang Luang Travel Piang Luang is located in Wiang Haeng District, Chiang Mai Province. In the past, Piang Luang allowed crossing into Myanmar through the temporary checkpoint at Ban Lak Taeng, which was managed by the Tai Yai people on the Myanmar side. Later, Myanmar reorganized minority groups, leading to conflicts at Ban Lak Taeng and the checkpoint was closed for many years. Now, anyone visiting Piang Luang must be truly determined to come.

Today I woke up to visit the Tan Kway Salak festival at Wat Sri Muang Mok, then came to visit the morning market at Piang Luang. The morning market is quite quiet with few people, making it a peaceful town since the checkpoint closure. However, some people still sell chickens there. The market sells fermented beans and Tai Yai style food. I strolled around and then had a meal at Khun Fu Ratchan's restaurant. I met a young woman doing her hair and learned that tonight there is the Poi Tian festival. It was lucky for me to capture the Tai Yai festival atmosphere to share with you.
