Chiang Mai Travel: Fang District

I saw mobile phone shop signs in Thai, Chinese, Muser, and Burmese languages. When I took a walk around 6 PM, the made-to-order food stalls were already set up near the district office. The area worth strolling is the old town of Fang. Fang looks old, with tricycle rickshaws that will soon disappear from Thailand for sure.
In the evening, I went to eat at PP Mookata, a famous restaurant in Fang District, popular with people of all ages. Mookata in other districts is affordable and still maintains the traditional style where everyone grills and chats together, sharing the fragrant grilled pork. Mookata restaurants here have not turned into international buffets where people just serve themselves without talking. Fang is a district in Chiang Mai province, mostly mountainous, with both lowland Thai and hill tribe populations.
Fang District is a center of development in upper Chiang Mai, with subordinate districts Mae Ai and Chai Prakan. It has a dense population and potential to support growth from Chiang Mai city in the future. It also offers convenient routes to Chiang Rai province, which will bring development from Chiang Rai due to the Southern China-Indochina border economic development plan in 2009-2010. Fang District was proposed to be established as Fang Province by combining nearby districts but was not approved.
Walking around Fang town, the Fang cinema shows evening movies near the Ban Fang Hotel where I stayed. PP Mookata is a famous restaurant in Fang. Ban Fang Hotel offers free WIFI. Fang has many ethnic groups from the forested mountains including Thai, Chinese, and Muser. Mr.Hotsia's trip to Fang District includes coffee shops on Doi Ang Khang, Doi Ang Khang at night, giant roti on Doi Ang Khang, Fang oil drilling rig, Tipros noodle shop in Fang town, Fang hot springs, and Doi Fa Hom Pok National Park.
